Nuevas realidades, nuevos paradigmas: la nueva revolución agrícola

Abstract

Actualmente la agricultura mundial experimenta una transición hacia un nuevo paradigma tecnológico, muy distinto al de la revolución verde. Este nuevo paradigma se sustenta en las actuales revoluciones “bio”, “info” y “nano” y en las nuevas demandas de la sociedad y de los mercados. En este contexto, la agricultura del siglo XXI empieza a vivir una nueva revolución, más amplia y más profunda que las anteriores: una revolución organizacional, de la gestión del conocimiento y de las convergencias entre las distintas tecnologías. Esta nueva revolución agrícola está ampliando notablemente el potencial de creación de riqueza del sector. Este artículo intenta ser una contribución a la caracterización del nuevo paradigma del desarrollo tecnológico agrícola y del tipo de agricultura que se está configurando.

Currently, world agriculture is experiencing a transition to a new paradigm technological, very different from that of the green revolution. This new paradigm is based on the current revolutions "bio", "info" and "nano" and in the new demands of society and markets. In this context, the agriculture of the 21st century begins to experience a new revolution, wider and deeper than the previous ones: an organizational revolution, of the management of the knowledge and the convergences between the different technologies. This new agricultural revolution is notably expanding the wealth-creating potential of the sector.
