Exploring Barbados' Sustainable Agritourism Potential
Sustainable agritourism in Barbados is booming, with initiatives like Coco Hill Forest and the Walkers Institute for Regenerative Research and Design leading the way toward a sustainable tourism destination. These initiatives integrate tourism with regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and local culture. Despite the success of tourism in Barbados, an increase in food imports has been observed, highlighting the need to strengthen local production to ensure food security. Supporting small-scale farmers in adopting innovative techniques is crucial for the long-term success of sustainable agritourism on the island.
